Duo Show With Jamaaladeen Tacuma 4/11

Bassist Jamaaladeen Tacuma and I will be revisiting our duo project from the 2022 release, Strings & Things, on Saturday night at Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center's beautiful VBI Theatre in Poughkeepsie, New York. The concert is presented by Elysium Furnace Works.

I first met Jamaaladeen playing in Marc Ribot’s band The Young Philadelphians; we actually recorded our duo record from the road in Japan in the summer of 2014. Jamaaladeen is an incredible musician, and I have admired his playing since I first heard Ornette Coleman’s Prime Time as a teenager.

We rarely get a chance to perform this music, and I’m very much looking forward to it.
