Tomeka Reid Quartet In Japan

The Tomeka Reid Quartet is heading back to Japan from December 12th through 29th for performances in Nagoya, Tokyo, Kobe, Okayama, Yame and Fukuoka.

We will be playing new music we recorded this past summer for Tomeka’s upcoming album, dance! skip! hop!, which will be released in February on Out Of Your Head Records (we will have advance copies available in Japan).

Tomas Fujiwara and I will also open one of the Kobe shows with a duo performance.

I have been ramping up my Japanese language study into high gear these past months in preparation for the trip, and I look forward to attempting to speak and read as much Japanese as I can, as well as enjoying the food, landscape, and shopping (from denim to Gachapin).
